Description
The Porsche 928 GTS represents the final and most refined evolution of Porsche’s ambitious front-engined V8 grand tourer. Introduced in the early 1990s, the GTS built upon over a decade of development, combining understated styling with significant mechanical improvements. Its widened rear arches, distinctive rear light bar and larger wheels gave it a more muscular presence, while retaining the smooth, aerodynamic lines that defined the 928’s original design. Inside, it offered a driver-focused yet comfortable cabin, blending high-quality materials with the practicality expected of a long-distance GT.
Under the bonnet, the 928 GTS featured a 5.4-litre V8 engine delivering strong, effortless performance, making it equally suited to spirited driving and refined motorway cruising. It achieved an impressive balance between power and usability, aided by near-perfect weight distribution and a sophisticated suspension setup. Today, the GTS is regarded as one of the most desirable versions of the 928, appreciated not only for its performance but also for its significance as the culmination of Porsche’s front-engine V8 era.
This left-hand drive, automatic Porsche 928 GTS is a late-production example, supplied new to Switzerland in February 1996 by Porsche Centre Geneva. Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic (L39C) with a Black leather interior and wood trim, it presents in a highly desirable and tasteful factory colour combination.
Additional factory options include Seat Heating Left & Right, Lumbar Support Left & Right Seat, Seat Memory Left Seat, Electric Sunroof, Leather Rear Seat Trim and Draped Leather Front Seats.
The car was owned in the 2000s by Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and registered near Geneva, Switzerland. It was later sold and imported to the UK when it was registered here in 2018, the car is accompanied by a strong maintenance history, including a recent check over completed by Paragon Porsche Specialists. Representing the pinnacle of 928s and offered in a timeless colour combination, this wonderful GTS would make a fine addition to any Porsche collection.
