Summary
One of the rarest and most desirable road-going 911s of the modern era.
Description
Introduced in 2010, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS represented the ultimate development of the 997-generation 911 and, at the time of its launch, was the most powerful road-going Porsche ever produced. Based on the already formidable GT2, the RS combined a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six producing 620 PS with a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Porsche quoted 0–62 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.
Weight was reduced by approximately 70kg compared with the standard GT2 through the extensive use of carbon fibre and other lightweight components, while the chassis, aerodynamics and braking systems were further developed for the RS. Production was strictly limited to just 500 examples worldwide, establishing the GT2 RS as one of the rarest and most desirable road-going 911s of the modern era.
This particular example is a left-hand-drive, C00 German-market car, delivered new in Germany and finished from the factory in Carrara White with a Black leather and Alcantara interior.
Its factory specification includes Cruise Control, Sound Package Plus, Cupholders, a six-point passenger-side harness, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with Navigation, Universal Audio Interface and an Alcantara steering wheel.
The car was imported into the United Kingdom and registered here in 2015. It benefits from a strong service and maintenance history comprising a mixture of Porsche main dealer and respected independent specialist care. Most recently, the GT2 RS has been serviced by Porsche Centre Mid-Sussex, with a service and brake fluid change carried out in preparation for sale.
Presenting in excellent condition throughout and ready to be enjoyed, this is a superb example of one of the most significant 911s of the 997 generation. With just 500 produced, a manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and 620 PS, the 997 GT2 RS has become an exceptionally collectible modern Porsche and remains one of the most focused road cars ever to wear the GT2 badge.
