A left-hand drive, fully restored Series 1 E-Type Roadster finished in Opalescent Golden Sand over Beige.
Description
The Jaguar E-type was produced between 1961 and 1975 and quickly became an established icon of the motoring world thanks to its combination of strong looks, high performance and competitive pricing. It received the famous accolade of being the "most beautiful car ever made" according to none other than Enzo Ferrari.
The series 1 cars were produced between 1961 and 1968 and are by far the most valuable and desirable. The E-Types produced from 1961-1964 had 3.8 litre straight 6 engines and partial synchromesh transmissions, whilst the later cars made between 1965-1967 had an increased capacity of 4.2 litres as well as the addition of a fully synchronised transmission.
We are delighted to offer this outstanding left-hand drive Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster, originally delivered new in January 1966 through Jaguar Cars, New York.
This exceptional example has been in the care of its current owner since 2016 and benefits from a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration completed between 2017 and 2021 by renowned marque specialists. During this process, the car received a full bare-metal respray in its factory-correct Opalescent Golden Sand, beautifully complemented by a complete interior retrim in original specification Beige leather. A new brown canvas hood and matching tonneau cover were also fitted.
Once completed the car was proudly displayed at the 2023 Salon Privé Concours at Blenheim Palace. Now UK-registered and offered with fully matching numbers, this Series 1 Roadster presents superbly, having covered fewer than 700 miles since works were finished. It is accompanied by an extensive history file, including a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, numerous service invoices and a comprehensive collection of photographs and documentation detailing the restoration process.
A superbly restored and correctly specified example of Jaguar’s most iconic open-top sports car, combining provenance, presentation and originality in equal measure. Contact us now for more information or to arrange a viewing.
