Description

After its introduction in 2002, the Ferrari Enzo instantly became the most desirable automobile on sale at the time, and it is easy to see why. Upping the ante in terms of both performance and visual panache over the F50, the Enzo brought Ferrari forth into the 21st century, setting the bar higher once more and proving to competitors like Porsche and Lamborghini that their cars would continue to be the industry benchmark. Using the best possible technology derived directly from the company's highly successful Formula One program, the Enzo brought race car performance to a platform suitable for use on the road by the privileged few.

This exceptional performance was courtesy of an all new, purpose-built V-12 engine displacing almost six litres and producing 561 horsepower and 485 foot-pounds of torque, which allowed for acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, leading to a top speed of over 350 km/h. The bodywork was fine-tuned in Ferrari's wind tunnel for maximum downforce, and the car's nose was reminiscent of one on a Formula One car, highlighting both the Enzo's advanced performance and technology. Featuring advanced composite bodywork clothing a carbon-fibre tub chassis, the Enzo tips the scales at just 1,255 kilograms.

Although 399 Enzos were produced (plus one built later for Pope John Paul II), these cars seldom featured special features and configurations requested by their first owners, with many opting to pick instead from the factory's suggested colour palate. Some customers, however, sought to go against the grain and as a result, a handful of Enzos can be found with options and specifications deviating slightly from the norm.

First delivered to Switzerland on 15 April 2004, this Enzo boasts one such interesting and seldom seen specification. Finished in Rosso Scuderia, it was further specified that all the side, front, and rear diffuser trim on the car was to be finished in matching Rosso Scuderia rather than black. The colour theme carried through to the interior, which was trimmed in matching red leather. During its time in Switzerland, the car was owned by Jean-Denis Délétraz of Geneva. It remains today just as it was when it left the factory and was granted Ferrari Classiche certification in 2016.

It was imported into the UK in 2017 and has been registered here ever since. The car boasts an excellent maintenance record, with 17 services documented. In October 2024, it received a new clutch and flywheel, followed by a comprehensive service and full mechanical inspection at the end of 2025. At that time, a brand-new set of tyres was fitted all round, and the front lift motor was also replaced. Cosmetically, the car presents beautifully and has just undergone a full professional detail by Topaz.

Today, this Enzo remains ready for further use on the road by an enthusiast looking to sample one of the most desirable Ferraris of the Montezemolo era, and its compelling and attractive option of special-order painted exterior trim certainly helps it to stand out from the rest.
