The Dino range of sports cars was named in honour of Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredino, who designed a dual overhead-camshaft V6 engine for both road and racing use before tragically passing away at the age of 24.

The 206GT was the first model to be introduced in 1967, proving that Ferrari could compete with the likes of Porsche by producing a car in the more budget end of the sports car spectrum. The 206 featured a 2.0 litre transverse-mounted V6 engine capable of producing 160bhp at the 8,000rpm redline.

After 150 206s were produced, the updated 246 GT and GTS were introduced, boasting a bigger and more powerful 2.4 litre engine, which produced almost 200bhp and powered the Dino onto a top speed of 148mph. This power was sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox. The Dino’s 2.4 litre V6 was used in several other Italian sports cars after its application in the 246, most notably the Lancia Stratos rally car.

Weighing only 1,080kg, the perfect weight distribution of the Dino thanks to its Rear-Mid-Engine layout was one of the defining features of the car, one of the all-time great handing Ferraris, on top of being one of the most beautiful.

Offered for sale here is an exceptionally restored, factory right-hand-drive example of the iconic Dino 246 GTS. One of just 235 RHD cars produced for the UK market, it is believed to be among only 12 examples delivered new with the highly desirable flared wheel-arch specification.

Built by Ferrari S.p.A. in Maranello and completed in February 1974, the car was supplied through UK importer Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. Finished from new in Rosso Chiaro with a black Skai interior, Rosso cloth seat inserts, black carpets, flared wheel arches, and the rare 7.5-inch Campagnolo wide wheels, it was originally supplied to Mr B. D. Webster of Eaglemont, Victoria and exported to Australia. During its life, the interior was upgraded to the sought-after “Daytona” seat specification.

The Dino enjoyed long-term ownership in Australia, remaining with the same custodian from 1997 until 2014. Acquired by its current owner in 2014, the car has since benefited from continuous specialist care and significant investment.

Between 2018 and 2022, the car was entrusted to a renowned marque specialist for a comprehensive restoration with assistance from Ferrari Classiche. The work included a bare-metal respray, a full mechanical overhaul, and a complete interior retrim by O’Rourke Coachtrimmers. The result is a beautifully presented example finished to an exceptional standard throughout.

Importantly, this Dino was awarded Ferrari Classiche Certification in March 2026, confirming its matching-numbers engine, gearbox, and chassis. Its original flared wheel-arch specification has also been independently authenticated by Ferrari Classiche.
