The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 was introduced for the 2023 model year as the ultimate evolution of the Challenger and the final high-performance 'Last Call' model before production of the LX-platform Challenger came to an end. Based on the widebody Challenger SRT, the Demon 170 was developed with a focus on straight-line performance and features a heavily revised version of Dodge's supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8. Named after the 170-proof rating of E85 ethanol fuel, it is capable of producing up to 1,025 bhp and 945 lb-ft of torque when running on high-ethanol fuel, with output automatically adjusted depending on the ethanol content detected in the fuel system. Power is transmitted exclusively through an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox to the rear wheels.

The Demon 170 incorporates extensive mechanical upgrades over the Hellcat Redeye, including a 3.0-litre supercharger, strengthened engine internals, revised fuel system, upgraded driveline components and a bespoke suspension calibrated for drag racing. Factory-fitted Mickey Thompson drag radial tyres, staggered wheel sizes, TransBrake 2.0, Line Lock, Launch Assist and an adaptive Drag Mode all contribute to its record-breaking performance. Dodge quoted a 0-60 mph time of 1.66 seconds and an NHRA-certified quarter mile of 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph, making it the quickest and most powerful production muscle car ever built by the marque. Production was limited, with a maximum of 3,300 examples allocated worldwide, including up to 3,000 for the United States and 300 for Canada.
