Description

In 2011, Aston Martin and Zagato came together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the DB4GT Zagato, unveiling the V12 Zagato at that year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and winning the Design award for Concepts and Prototypes. Although the engine was mechanically the same as the V12 Vantage, extras such as the uprated suspension and rear wing helped propel the car to 5th and 6th in class at the 39th ADAC Nürburgring that same year.

Each car was to be individually designed for the owner, with design elements combining modern innovations and historic elements that reflected the 50-year relationship between Aston Martin and Zagato. Loosely based on the standard V12 Vantage, the V12 Zagato features a handcrafted aluminium body with the classic Zagato ‘double bubble’ roof. A grand total of 2,000 hours went into every vehicle, an astounding five times as long as the regular V12 Vantage.

Although 101 examples were planned, only 65 were produced: Two prototype racecars, two prototype road cars, and 61 production road cars. This mirrors the original DB4 GT Zagato, the production of which also fell short of initial projections—a fact that, as with its inspiration from a half-century prior, makes the V12 Zagato even more exclusive today.

The car we are pleased to offer for sale was built in RHD and is one of just 18 cars produced as such. It was completed in April, 2013 and collected directly from the factory by its first owner before being exported to Malaysia shortly after. It was specified from new in the stunning Zagato only colour scheme of Diavolo Red over an Obsidian Leather interior with Red contrast stitching and Z embroidery.

Additional factory options include; Zagato 19 Inch Wheels in Black Diamond Turned, Carbon Fibre A Pillars, Carbon Fibre Mirror Caps, Bright Side Strake, Black Brake Callipers, Zagato Leather Headlining, Bang & Olufsen Audio System, and Black Safety Belts.

The car remained in a private collection in Malaysia until late 2017 when it was imported back to the United Kingdom. It was then then sold to its second and current owner who has cared for the car for the past 5 and a half years.

It sits today in wonderful condition, showing under 5,875 miles from new. The car benefits from front-end paint protection film and has been maintained solely throughout its life by main dealer agents.

With only 65 vehicles produced, this collaboration remains today one of the most exclusive – and individual – Aston Martins available on the market. The V12 Zagato offered here is a wonderful, low mileage example of this partnership and would be a fantastic addition to any modern classic supercar collection.
