The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari was unveiled in 2009 as a celebration of the longstanding relationship between Abarth and Ferrari, two iconic names in Italian performance culture. Developed as a high-end, limited-run version of the Abarth 500, it aimed to bring some of Ferrari’s motorsport spirit to the compact hot hatch segment. The collaboration was rooted in history: Abarth had tuned and raced Fiat and Ferrari engines as far back as the 1950s, and by the late 2000s the brands revived this link through special projects. Technically, the 695 Tributo Ferrari featured a 1.4-litre Turbo T-Jet engine upgraded to around 180 bhp, delivering much sharper performance than the standard Abarth 500 models. Power was channelled through an MTA automated-manual gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, designed to mimic the feel of Ferrari’s F1-style transmissions. Enhancements included Brembo four-piston front brakes, Koni FSD dampers, a Record Monza variable-back-pressure exhaust, and lightweight 17-inch alloys. Inside, the car gained carbon-fibre trim, Sabelt bucket seats, and unique instrumentation by Jaeger.
