Summary
A low mileage example of Abarth’s riotous limited-edition hot hatch, finished in the lesser-seen hue of Blu Abu Dhabi.
Description
The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari was unveiled in 2009 as a celebration of the longstanding relationship between Abarth and Ferrari, two iconic names in Italian performance culture. Developed as a high-end, limited-run version of the Abarth 500, it aimed to bring some of Ferrari’s motorsport spirit to the compact hot hatch segment. The collaboration was rooted in history: Abarth had tuned and raced Fiat and Ferrari engines as far back as the 1950s, and by the late 2000s the brands revived this link through special projects. The Tributo Ferrari was positioned as the most exclusive and highly specified Abarth of its era, produced in very small numbers and offered in colours inspired by Ferrari’s own palette.
Technically, the 695 Tributo Ferrari featured a 1.4-litre Turbo T-Jet engine upgraded to around 180 bhp, delivering much sharper performance than the standard Abarth 500 models. Power was channelled through an MTA automated-manual gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, designed to mimic the feel of Ferrari’s F1-style transmissions. Enhancements included Brembo four-piston front brakes, Koni FSD dampers, a Record Monza variable-back-pressure exhaust, and lightweight 17-inch alloys. Inside, the car gained carbon-fibre trim, Sabelt bucket seats, and unique instrumentation by Jaeger.
While the majority of 695 Tributo Ferrari models were finished in the iconic Rosso Corsa, this particular example stands out in the striking and far rarer shade of Blu Abu Dhabi, complemented by grey Scuderia-style racing stripes, silver carbon-fibre door-mirror caps, and distinctive model badging. The interior continues the theme with grey leather and Alcantara upholstery, carbon-fibre-backed Sabelt bucket seats featuring black cloth inserts, embroidered ‘Abarth’ script on the seat backs, and glossy carbon-fibre trim throughout. It sits on 17-inch Challenge-style alloy wheels with yellow brake callipers and Michelin Cross Climate tyres.
Factory equipment includes xenon headlights, a numbered identification plaque, dual-zone automatic climate control, switchable traction control, a selectable Sport mode, a dashboard-mounted boost gauge, and an Interscope audio system.
This example has also benefited from a selection of tasteful upgrades, including an Alpine iLX-F903 touch-screen media system with reversing camera, satellite navigation and DAB radio, an Akrapovič exhaust, Tarox brake pads, Bilstein B14 coilover suspension, and a Celtic Tuning Stage 1 remap.
Accompanying the car are two keys, the original stereo unit, an Abarth car cover, a pair of matching grey-leather 695-branded luggage bags, a warning triangle, Abarth-branded gloves, a high-visibility jacket, all owner’s manuals in a grey leather wallet, and a folder of MOT certificates, maintenance history, and parts invoices.
One of just 1,199 examples produced worldwide and believed to be one of only 99 finished in Blu Abu Dhabi, this well-specified and sympathetically enhanced 695 Tributo Ferrari offers a stylish, engaging and highly distinctive choice for daily driving, weekend enjoyment, and show-day outings.
