Jaguar XKR-S GT
A rare Red example of Jaguar's track focused evolution of the XK Coupe. 1 owner from new, just under 3200 miles from new.
The Jaguar XKR-S GT was developed by Jaguar's ETO division and was envisioned as the ultimate road-going, track-ready version of the XK Coupe. Production was limited to under 50 units, with only 10 UK delivered RHD cars built.
Evolved from the seminal XKR-S Coupe, the XKR-S GT features bespoke aerodynamic components and suspension developments to increase downforce and optimise high-speed cornering ability. Additions include; a carbon fibre front splitter, canards, extended wheel arch spats, an elevated rear wing, rear diffuser and an aluminium valance; all of which combined creates a maximum downforce of 145kg.
One of the highlights of the vehicle is it's carbon ceramic brake system - a production first for Jaguar - featuring 398mm and 380mm discs front/rear operated respectively by six and four piston monoblock calipers.
The revised suspension comprises of a wider front track, increased camber, revised bushings, a new steering system and faster steering ratio, all developed from the F-Type programme. Height adjustable and bespoke adaptive dampers feature a race-derived twin spring system and increased rates of 68% front and 25% at the rear.
The beating heart of the beast is a 550PS, 680Nm supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine - driving through a 6-speed transmission and active electronic differential - which thrusts the car to 60mph in 3.9 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph, although unconfirmed legend touts the true top speed at just shy of 235mph.
While the vast majority of XKR-S GT's were delivered in Polaris White, this example is finished in the very rare Italian Racing Red and has covered only 3,174 miles from new. The rich black interior is a truly special place to be, and has the additional benefit of regular road seatbelts to accompany the racing harnesses.
The opportunity to own cars of such a striking nature, built in such low numbers and to such high specification isn't one that comes up often. To miss it would be foolish!
