Specification

The Jaguar E-type was produced between 1961 and 1975 and quickly became an established icon of the motoring world thanks to its combination of strong looks, high performance and competitive pricing. It received the famous accolade of being the "most beautiful car ever made" according to none other than Enzo Ferrari!

The series 1 cars were produced between 1961 and 1968 and are by far the most valuable and desirable. The E-Types produced from 1961-1964 had 3.8 litre straight 6 engines and partial synchromesh transmissions, whilst the later cars made between 1965-1967 had an increased capacity of 4.2 litres with more power as well as the addition of a fully synchronised transmissions.

This rather special Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Coupe has been treated to the most extensive restoration you are likely to find. The body was stripped back to bare metal and all imperfections in the bodywork were ironed out and repaired. It was then treated to a full respray in Lapis Blue Metallic. All exterior chrome finishing and rubber trim was replaced and refinished. The interior was also totally restored, with the door cards and seats being re-trimmed in Cream Connolly leather with Wilton carpets and the dashboard finished in Veneer with Magnolia dials and gauges.

During its restoration, the 3.8 litre engine was fully rebuilt by a Jaguar specialist to give a higher compression, whilst uprated triple Weber carburettors were added. The running gear and driveshaft was also completely rebuilt. All new bearings were used throughout, and all rubber bushes were replaced with Neoprene racing bushes.

The car also received many upgrades during this restoration to make it more usable on a daily basis, these include a bespoke air conditioning system, power steering, a five-speed gearbox, and a full AP Racing Brake setup. It also gained a 'handling package' that included adjustable dampers, uprated torsion bars, and front roll bar and bushes, all courtesy of Rob Beere Racing.

The car presents wonderfully after covering just under 3,000 miles since its total restoration. All modifications and upgrades were carried out with no expense spared, making this E-Type one of the finest available on the market today. The car maintains an exceptional history file with photographs documenting every element of its incredible restoration as well as its original log book and history prior to the restoration. A true driver's car that can be used more than easily on a daily basis but that would also thrive on a longer, cross continent road trip!
