Bugatti EB110 SS
Extremely rare Bugatti EB110 Super Sport 'Dauer' finished in naked Carbon. 1 owner vehicle with just over 2,000 km from new.
The Bugatti EB110 is a mid-engine super car from the 1990s, made from 1991 to 1995 with around 150 cars produced in total. The EB110 GT came with a 3.5 litre V12 complete with quad-turbo technology, a real revolution in the early 90s. The 'standard' GT had around 550 bhp and was capable of speeds well in excess of 210 mph.
In 1992, Bugatti revealed a lighter and more powerful version of the EB110, the Super Sport, with over 600 bhp and a 0-60 time of under 3.5 seconds. Only around 30 of these special edition cars were ever produced from 92-95, with Michael Schumacher famously buying a Banana Yellow example in 1994. The EB110 really was one of the most iconic and mechanically impressive supercars of its day, attracting customers such as the then one-time World Champion, who kept the car until 2003.
However, even with the apparent success of the EB110, Bugatti hit hard times in 1995 following the chairman's purchase of Lotus and the development costs of the EB112, which lead to bankruptcy. The production line and complete spare parts catalogue to build the EB110 was purchased by Dauer Racing GbhH of Nuremberg in 1997, who went on to produce a reported 5 additional and extremely special EB110s.
Dauer were a company founded by the racing driver Jochen Dauer in 1987, initially competing in the German supercup and European Interserie Champsionships. However, the company truly gained provenance in the 1990s through their modifications to Porsche 962, creating both road-legal and Le Mans examples. In fact, the Dauer 962 Le Mans car would go on to win the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans, cementing the companies place in motoring history.
After purchasing the EB110 production line, Dauer Sportswagen set about putting their magic touch on the already impressive EB110. It is believed that there were 5 Dauer EB110s produced in total, most of them being original Super Sport examples. The Dauer Super Sport can be considered the ultimate EB110 ever produced; the company took their racing experience to create a full carbon-body car saving around 200 kg and also increased power to north of 700 bhp (although some claim this figure to be closer to 800).
The car we are offering is an extremely special and unique example of a Dauer Super Sport, finished in naked Carbon-fibre. It is believed that the car left the Dauer factory in 2002 and has enjoyed single ownership since that day, covering just over 2,000 kms. Naturally, the car is in absolutely perfect condition; this is a truly unique opportunity to invest in the greatest Bugatti EB110 of all time. With the EB110, Bugatti created a car that was the pinnacle of supercar performance at the time and with just 150 being produced it remains one of the forgotten greats of the era. The Dauer Super Sport is simply the finest example of this magnificent supercar; not only fantastic to drive but also a unique investment opportunity.
